Poetry Shorts are 45-60 minute for up to 6 participants. Poetry and Expressive Art Therapy workshops designed to raise self- esteem and self–efficacy, explore emotions, raise self awareness, improve social skills and address unresolved emotions.
Poetry Shorts (for schools) In addition to providing a safe and supportive environment to enable students to secure the ability to express their emotions and develop the capacity to control behaviour; these sessions also provide education in English, teaching KS2 students to speak and write fluently, enabling them to communicate their ideas and emotions. Through reading and listening not only do they learn to communicate effectively, but this also provides students with the chance to develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, culturally and spiritually.
For KS3 English students we provide opportunities from students to examine different descriptive and prose-writing techniques, to understand how to plan a piece of fiction writing; and to learn to define and explain some literary devices and their effects.
These sessions also support SMSC within schools.
